A deep bite or overbite is when the upper front teeth significantly overlap the lower front teeth.  Often you cannot see the lower front teeth.  It is very important to correct it because it can cause improper function of your front teeth, incisor edges of lower front teeth biting into the gum tissue of the palate leading to tissue problems and potentially loss of the upper front teeth, unusual wear of lower front teeth, cause your jaw/joint problem, and make your smile less attractive.

Shown below is a patient with deep bite, impacted teeth, and facial asymmetry was treated by Dr Nguyen. Patient’s bite and facial symmetry improve significantly.
