Unilateral Posterior Crossbite Was Corrected Using Rapid Palatal Expander at Georgia Orthodontic Care, Lawrenceville, GA 30043

Posterior crossbite is often related to a narrow maxilla and upper dental arch.  It can be unilateral (one side) or bilateral (both sides).  When crossbite condition presents, it is recommended to correct it as soon as possible before the palatal suture fused to avoid future orthognathic surgery.

Shown below is a patient with unilateral posterior crossbite just completed at our office using rapid palatal expander in conjunction with comprehensive orthodontic treatment.
