Orthodontic Treatments with Teeth Extraction

To extract or not to extract of permanent teeth for orthodontic treatments has been a controversial topic in the orthodontic community for many years.   A thorough diagnosis by a skilled clinician including facial profile, soft tissue thickness, lip competency, dental crowding & protrusion, arch forms … should be carried out for each individual patient.

At our office we try to minimize teeth extractions whenever possible to preserve integrity of arches and give broad smiles.  However, extraction can be helpful in certain cases.  Shown below is a case treated by Dr Nguyen when extraction is needed.
